Breathing new life into your smile with total restorative dentistry care

Untreated dental decay puts you at risk of serious infection and tooth loss. Fortunately, there are numerous ways to preserve even the most damaged teeth. Ideally, we want to detect and resolve such damage before it gets worse. Even when teeth cannot be preserved, Stephen Huber, DDS, provides many restorative dentistry options to replace them, including single-tooth and full-mouth prostheses with dental implants.

How do you restore damaged teeth?

All restorative dentistry services start with an examination. Dr. Huber examines your teeth and their supportive structures. Technologies like our digital x-rays may also be used to understand your needs better. If we can save your teeth, Dr. Huber may discuss options like fillings and crowns.

What option might be best to preserve my teeth?

A filling is mainly for smaller cavities. Bigger cavities may require dental crowns. For more extensive damage to the inside of a tooth, Dr. Huber may perform root canal therapy. Treatment, followed by a crown, prevents tooth loss by preserving it and avoiding the need for its extraction.

What if my tooth can’t be saved?

Dental implants provide a permanent, stable solution for replacing one or several missing teeth, as well as entire arches of teeth. These devices feature a cylindrical post surgically inserted into the jawbone at the location of the missing tooth. It replaces the missing tooth root and ensures your dental restoration is stable. Made from biocompatible titanium, the implant heals and naturally bonds to the bone. Once the implant is secured in the jaw, the restoration or replacement tooth is attached to it.

What if I am missing many teeth?

We can stabilize a bridge or denture with as few as two dental implants. These options may be on the horizon if you are missing a few teeth, several teeth, or all of the teeth in the upper or lower dental arch(es).

How do implants compare to conventional bridges or dentures?

At Stephen Huber, DDS, we are proud to support many different types of patients with diverse needs. Naturally, we like to provide choices. So, options may be customized to the unique needs of each patient. We offer conventional dental bridges for this reason. Bridges are generally a nonsurgical and cost-effective way to replace a single tooth or a few teeth. The replacement teeth are anchored by neighboring natural teeth. Implant crowns, bridges, and dentures are different; they are designed like natural teeth (with tooth roots).
